Well it appears that there is no such thing as cheap DK weight yarn. At least that I can find, anyway. I looked all over Michael's, Joann's, Wal-Mart, and online. Nothing! I've decided to just go ahead and start the House Sweater. The only thing I'm really worried about is the blocking. I can practice blocking with pretty much anything though, right?
Alright, this was a boring post. Sorry

Well, you don't want cheap yarn, but rather inexpensive, perhaps. Have you tried KnitPicks online? They have inexpensive yarns at very reasonable prices with some really great colours. Give 'em a try, here's the link to their DK weight page: http://www.knitpicks.com/DK+weight+knitting+yarn_YL30010105.html
If you don't like to order online you can request a catalogue from them and do mail order.
Good luck, hon!
I've looked there, and the yarn I need to use from there is just as expensive if not more than the Plymouth Encore DK I got.
I've decided to just forget the whole practice sweater and just go ahead with the real one.
I don't need to change the size or anything, so it should be pretty straight forward. I hope anyway =]
Thanks anyway, though!
